Good value for investment

This was my first time looking into real estate investment, and I wanted to make sure it was worth it. I joined the Kora Rewards program. It felt like a solid deal for the long term. The projected yield looked competitive, and getting those benefits for owners made it more attractive compared to just putting money in a savings account. I feel like I got good value for my money.

Decent investment, slow info

I bought into one of the 'unidades de alojamiento flexible'. The investment itself seems fine, and the projected yield was accurate. However, getting updates on the project's progress sometimes took longer than I expected. Not a huge problem, but a quicker response would've been better. Overall, it's a solid investment.

Smooth investment process

Invested in an 'apartamento de inversión'. The process was clear. Returns have been consistent so far. No issues encountered.

Investment worked out fine

I decided to put some money into one of their 'apartamentos turísticos' last year. Honestly, I wasn't sure what to expect, but everything went pretty smoothly. The paperwork was a bit much, but they helped explain it. The returns have been coming in as they said, which is good. It's nice to have something bringing in income without me having to do anything after the initial setup. Happy with how it turned out.

Reliable and consistent returns

I've invested with Cam Kora Living several times now, starting a couple of years ago with a 'complejo residencial gestionado' and more recently adding a 'coliving' unit. Each time, the process has been predictably smooth. The projected yields have consistently been met, and the quarterly statements are always clear. I appreciate that I don't have to worry about managing the properties myself; the 'gestión delegada' really works. They've maintained good communication, and any questions I've had were answered quickly. It's why I keep coming back for new projects.

What's the actual return like? They say 5-8% but is that before or after all the management fees and stuff?

E Elizabeth Anderson 1 week ago
I think that's the yield they target. The management fees are usually factored in before they talk about the 'benefits distribution'.

D Daniel Nguyen 1 week ago
From what I gathered, those percentages are the targeted yields. They handle the full management, so the fees for that are usually part of the operational costs before your profit is calculated. You get a share of the actual exploitation benefits. So it's not like you get 8% and then they hit you with huge fees on top of that, it's generally how the project performs as a whole.

Thinking of putting some money into one of their properties. Is it actually safe or am I gonna lose my shirt?

L Linda Phillips 1 week ago
From what I understand, they're pretty legit. They manage everything and seem to have a good track record. Not like some random landlord thing.

Yeah, I checked them out too. They're more like an investment firm than just selling you a place, so there's a different kind of risk, but they seem to handle it professionally. Plus, they talk about BREEAM certification which is a good sign for quality.

Can I actually stay in the apartment if I invest in one of their tourist or flex living units? Or is it just for rent?

A Abigail Scott 1 month ago
I think they have specific rules for that. For owners, there might be discounts on stays at their properties, but it's not like your own personal vacation home.

It's primarily an investment for rental income. They do mention owner benefits like discounts on stays at Kora properties, but it's not designed for personal use whenever you want. You'd have to check the specific terms for the type of unit you're interested in, but usually, these are managed for profit.

do you get any kind of discount for being a repeat investor? or like if you tell a friend?

J Jason W. 2 weeks ago
They have this Kora Rewards thing. I think that's where you get perks for being loyal or referring people.

M Matt Rivera 2 weeks ago
No actual discount codes or anything like that. But yeah, Kora Rewards is their loyalty program, and they do have incentives for referrals and for reinvesting. So you do get something, just not a typical coupon.

How does this compare to something like Urbanitae or Housers? Is it a similar kind of investment?

D Danielle Ramirez 2 weeks ago
I looked into Urbanitae too. Kategora seems more hands-off for the investor, they manage the property completely. Urbanitae is more like crowdfunding a specific project.

A Alex Jackson 2 weeks ago
They're similar in that they're both real estate investments but the model is different. Kategora focuses on fully managed residential complexes, so you're not just buying a share in a development, you're investing in an income-generating asset with them doing all the work. It's less about project-by-project crowdfunding like some others.
